Diversity: The Sky's the Limit!
September 13-14, 2006
San Francisco
Founded
in 1989, the California Minority Counsel Program (CMCP) is a membership
organization with a central mission of maximizing opportunities for
attorneys of color. CMCP is the most successful minority counsel
program of its kind in the nation. The Annual Business Development
Conference is CMCP’s signature event and features speakers, MCLE
programs, skill development, and discussion geared toward diversity in
the legal profession—as well as our trademark product—Corporate
Connections, brief matched interviews with a specific aim of generating
leads that may ultimately yield business.
The conference will be held at the Hotel Nikko,
222 Mason Street, San Francisco, California.
The first day of the conference, September 13, will conclude with a Judges Reception
at The Bubble Lounge in San Francisco. This event will give conference attendees an opportunity to meet
and network with members of the judiciary.

THE BUZZ |
"I found the CMCP annual conference to be an excellent networking event since it combines formal networking and informal networking opportunities. I have met several diverse attorneys through CMCP who I have recommended to hiring attorneys within the company."
-Hanifa Baporia
Assistant General Counsel, Sun Microsystems
“I cannot express enough the value of CMCP. The CMCP organization provides wonderful opportunities for networking, and I have developed client business from my CMCP contacts. But more importantly, the CMCP family is a place to forge lifelong long friendships with diversity-inspired colleagues in the legal community. For these reasons and so many other reasons, I am proud to say that my firm has financially supported CMCP with title sponsorship of the Annual Business Development Conference for three years in a row.”
-James D. Nguyen
Partner, Foley & Lardner LLP
“We first attended a CMCP conference two years ago, less than a month after our firm was formed. It proved to be a great experience that yielded significant results -- and two clients -- for our firm. We attended again last year and landed a major bank as a client that had even more work for our firm. We’ve found that the more we put into CMCP, the more we get out of it.”
-Geoffrey Gibbs:
Partner, Gibbs & Oliphant LLP
