Geronimo Perez is a Partner in the firm’s Los Angeles, California office. He has experience in general business, real estate and intellectual property litigation. He graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Business Administration in International Business. He received his Juris Doctor and Master of Laws in Entertainment and Media Law from Southwestern University School of Law, where he was a staff member of the Southwestern Journal of Law and Trade in the Americas. Mr. Perez has also worked as a judicial extern in the Commercial Court of Appeals for the City of Buenos Aires as well as the Court of First Instance for Civil and Commercial Matters in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Mr. Perez has also lived in Spain and Denmark where his studies focused on international business within the European Union, the United States and Latin America.

REPRESENTATIVE MATTERS Successfully prosecuted a TORCA participating tenant’s right to purchase his condominium unit from his landlord in the City of Santa Monica, resulting in a more favorable settlement for the client. As part of the litigation team, successfully prosecuted and defended against competing trade secret misappropriations and related claims, resulting in a $1 million jury verdict in favor of the client. Second-chaired jury trial in Kentucky United States District Court defending a California-based toner cartridge remanufacturer in a patent infringement litigation filed by Lexmark International, which ultimately resulted in a favorable settlement for the client. Successfully second-chaired bench trial on behalf of an elderly woman against a Buddhist monk for misappropriation of over $2 million of investment funds and breach of fiduciary duty stemming from a retirement home investment project. Successfully prosecuted copyright infringement case on behalf of Samsung America against clothing retailer and distributors in California United States District Court, which ultimately resulted in a favorable settlement for Samsung America. Successfully prosecuted copyright infringement case as pro hoc vice counsel on behalf of Samsung America against clothing distributor in New York United States District Court, which ultimately resulted in a favorable settlement for Samsung America. Successfully prosecuted copyright infringement case on behalf of Samsung America against clothing retailer and distributors in California United States District Court, which ultimately resulted in a favorable settlement for Samsung America. As part of the litigation team, defended Nestlé USA in a $330 million lawsuit alleging trade secret misappropriation, interference with contract and related claims. After a three-week trial in Hidalgo County, Texas, the jury awarded approximately $1 million in damages, well below Nestlé USA’s pre-trial settlement offer.
