  Jaclyn A. Simi focuses her practice on representing employers in federal and state court litigation involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, unfair competition, and wage and hour claims. She also counsels employers on a broad spectrum of day-to-day employment matters, including employee discipline, terminations, leaves of absence and wage and hour issues. In addition, she assists employers in drafting policies, employee handbooks, and employment-related agreements to ensure compliance with California and federal laws while also serving the employer's individual business needs. Ms. Simi has experience drafting international employment agreements, equity compensation plans, student/staff interaction polices, and has created employer training materials.

Ms. Simi’s employment experience also encompasses Native American tribes and tribal-affiliated clients. She has researched employment and lending laws’ applicable to tribal employers and drafted employment, arbitration, and settlement agreements for tribal clients. In law school, Ms. Simi was the president of California Western’s Native American Law Students Association and is a citizen of the Seminole Nation of Oklahoma.

Prior to joining Procopio as a law clerk, Ms. Simi was the recipient of the firm’s Winter 2012 Native American Internship. She has also been a Labor and Employment research assistant for Professor Ruben J. Garcia at California Western School of Law and worked in Employee Deferred Compensation for the County of San Diego’s Treasurer/Tax Collector.
