Congrats Javade Chaudhri, Sempra & Walter Sutton, Walmart for ABA Diversity Commission Honors

Recognition as Trailblazers for Excellence in Inclusive
Leadership by the ABA Diversity Commission.
Javade Chaudhri, executive vice president and general counsel of Sempra Energy in San Diego, is the only South Asian-American general counsel of a Fortune 500 company. He is chair of the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association’s In-House Counsel Committee, which is responsible for reaffirming to outside law firms the importance of diversity.

Sempra Energy is a long-standing member and strong supporter of the California Minority Counsel Program.

Walter Sutton, associate general counsel for Wal-Mart Stores Inc. in Bentonville, Ark., is responsible for the development and coordination of diversity for Wal-Mart’s legal department. He was the first African-American to work as a lawyer at both Tenneco Oil Co. and Texas Instruments as well as the first African-American to receive a Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Dallas.

Walmart is a strong supporter of the California Minority Counsel Program.
