CMCP Executive Director, Marci Rubin, received California Association of Black Lawyers’ David Cunningham Community Service Award at the 35th Annual CABL Awards Installation Gala on April 14, 2012. Mark Zemelman, CMCP Board Co-Chair accepted the award on behalf of Marci, who is currently traveling abroad on vacation.

Laura Stein, Senior Vice President & General Counsel at The Clorox Company will be honored with the National Legal Aid & Defender Association's 2012 Exemplar Award. The presentation of this award pays tribute to those lawyers who set an example by their extraordinary vision, dedication, achievement and leadership in providing quality representation and access to justice for people unable to afford a lawyer.
