CMCP defines an "attorney of color” or "minority attorney” for purposes of determining member type and inclusion in CMCP’s Minority Lawyer Locator as an individual in any of the following categories:
  • Black American
  • Hispanic American
  • Native American (including American Indian, Eskimo, Aleut, and Native Hawaiian)
  • South-Asian American (including a person whose origins are from Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka)
  • Asian-Pacific American (including a person whose origins are from Cambodia, China, Guam, Japan, Korea, Laos, Northern Marianas, the Philippines, Samoa, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam, and the United States Trust Territories of the Pacific)
  • A person whose origins are from the Middle East
  • Multi-racial

How do I know if my organization is a CMCP member?

If my organization is a CMCP member, am I also a member?

Yes. When an organization joins CMCP, every attorney in the organization is considered a CMCP member.

What is a CMCP Individual Member?

An Individual Member is an attorney who works for an organization that is not a CMCP member or who is not affiliated with a CMCP member type organization (generally an attorney seeking work).

Do I need to be a member to attend a CMCP event?

No, unless an event is specifically designated "members only”. Most CMCP events are open to anyone, although there may be a fee or an increased fee for a non-member to attend.

My firm or organization is a CMCP member but my name is not listed in the Minority Lawyer Locator. How do I create an attorney profile?

If you are a minority attorney in a CMCP member organization and do not have a Lawyer Locator attorney profile, ask the primary CMCP contact at your organization for a Lawyer Locator invitation. Click here for details.

How do I update my Minority Lawyer Locator attorney profile?

You must sign-in to your profile to update your personal information. Click here to go to the Member Login page.
